Frequently Asked Questions

How would you describe your photography & videography style?

We provide a candid approach but give direction throughout your wedding day as needed. Spending the day with your family and friends should be your priority and we will make sure capturing the day is ours.

We provide a crisp, clean and true to colour style of photography and videography. Our aim is to provide a great experience on the day and capture the most authentic moments for you to look back on for years to come.

How far in advance should we book your services?

Our larger packages that include Photography, Videography and a DJ/MC are typically booked between 18 months to 24 months in advance. Most couples booking a stand alone service will book anywhere from 6 to 18 months out. The smaller the wedding the closer couples seem to book. Booking on a Friday or Sunday may still be available with 6 month notice but you may run the risk that we may take some R&R if we find an opportunity where we have no bookings. Most years we complete over 80 weddings and 100+ engaged couples sessions. This means we will enjoy life if we find a weekend that allows us so booking in advance will stop disappointment.

Do you offer payment plans?

We typically offer 2 payment plan options.

33%/33%/34%

25%/25%/50%

All fees should will need to be paid 4 weeks prior to the wedding date. If this isn’t possible we would encourage communication and there will always be flexible where possible. We understand that wedding planning can be stressful and we are here to make your experience positive and stress free where possible.

How long have we been capturing weddings?

As the owner i have been a photographer for 8 years and i have been capturing weddings for 6. All the people in the current team have successful businesses of their own and usually run rates that are up to double what we are charging for our services. Why would they work for me? We they can fit in an extra work day without adding to their editing backlog and it is always great to work with friends.

Do you have experience at our wedding venue?

While venues push this so the photographer and videographer is more compliant to the rules they set it is more important that the photographer or videographer you choose has experience in different lighting situations. Photographers and videographers don’t normally follow bump in and out requirements and we need very little from the venue to do our jobs. Churches most of the time don’t allow flash or won’t allow photographers near the altar but that information will be told to you and you will pass that on. If we are unsure about something we will contact the venue directly or pop in and visit them if we feel it is a must.

What services do you provide?

We currently specialize in wedding photography, videography and Photobooth. We do offer Photo/video & DJ/C services with the aid of Envy Event Group & Southern Sky Events to offer the best value package in the industry. As part of our services we can help recommend other vendors and we can help you develop a wedding timeline for your day if you have not hired a wedding planner.

Do you have back up equipment is case of malfunctions?

Malfunctions are the main reason you need to hire a true wedding professional and not a friend of a friend or a family member that has just brought a new fancy camera.

We have a few ways to protect against malfunctions and other mishaps that can happen to all wedding photographers and videographers. A camera that can record to multiple memory cards at once is a must for a wedding day. This means that when we take a photo or a video that it is recorded in 2 places shall a card fail between the time of it being taken and the time it is uploaded and backed up to multiple hard drives. Cards are also not erased until the files are saved in multiple locations.

We carry spare equipment. On the day we carry multiple cameras on our body and have spares in the car. It is uncommon for multiple cameras to fail in a day but this can happen when working in the rain. Our cameras are weather sealed but rain can still get into the camera body and cause it to fail.

All files are backed up on multiple hard drives and on a NAS server. We make sure the risk of losing a file is absolutely improbable.

Can we provide you a shot list?

Absolutely not. We used to allow it but couples are now getting them off google and chatGPT. If something is really important to you we do make notes but a photo by photo shot list will actually distract us from focusing on moments. While couples pick the photographer or videographer they want i also want clients that are after moments and no token photos or treads. We have been in the business long enough to understand what couples are looking for and we also know how to get your expectations out of you during the booking process so that we can meet them expectations.

How long is your turnaround on services?

COMPLETION SCHEDULE:

• Photography Preview – A preview of 20 images as selected by Lovetales.com.au will be delivered within 10 business days post the wedding service date.

• Photography Finals – All digital products will be delivered via OneDrive or Pic-Time, within 20 business days post the wedding service date.

• Videography (Documentary) – Documentary videography shall be delivered within 20 business days post the wedding service date.

Do you offer albums and prints?

Of course we do. We will supply you with amazing images in high resolution for you to organise your own prints for no additional costs. BUT we can also help you with albums and prints in the premium nature that will turn heads when family and friends see your photos hanging from your walls. Each print would included free retouching to ensure that your print looks the best on your wall.

Do you service same sex couples?

The fact that this is still a question is crazy. Love, is love and we are here to support all couples!.

Can we have the RAW/unedited files from our wedding?

The simple answer is no. RAW files themselves will not be available as most computers cannot read the files without specific software. If another photographer or videographer asks for them we will supply them for a fee.

Most couples when they ask for RAW files are actually asking for the outtakes and photos that weren’t included. When a photographer talks about RAW files they mean the unedited original files that need processing before they turn into a printable JPEG. So RAW files are not available to the general public as you don’t know how to process them.

Whats is your cancellation policy?

All booking fees are non-refundable for the purpose of the contract. We will be flexible and understanding where possible but considering couples mainly book us 12 months plus in advance it is hard to replace your bookings if you cancel and more so with the packages you aren’t just affecting one person’s income by pulling out but up to 7 people on our biggest package. If i cancel on my team i still need to pay them something and deposits or booking fee won’t always cover this.

Depending on the situation and solely at our discretion will i move a wedding booking date. Normally we will require a new deposit/booking fee per date.
